Twice this week I've been approached by a complete stranger at the airport asking if I had a phone they could borrow. Am I being too paranoid because I've said no both times? I just don't feel comfortable giving my $300 phone to a stranger...

well, if you have your number set to be blocked, offer to call the number for them and have it on speaker. if they are willing, whatever. but yeah, i wouldn't lend any one my phone either.

While risky to the rest of your personal belongings (and safety), it was more common to let strangers into your home to use your phone, as they were less likely to run off with it before you could stop them. Not so much these days with tiny mobile phones, digital cameras, and camcorders. Their very portability makes the risk that much higher, so your actions are warranted.
