When I bought the condo, it had a single three bulb light fixture over the island. With 100 watt bulbs, it was using 300 watts to light the kitchen with yellowish light and casting shadows over every part of the counter I was standing in front of. So, I decided to spend $400 and install my own track lighting.

Here's a map of the kitchen that I used for the track lighting and the pot rack.

Here's the track lighting installed. Now it's using 350 watts and is much brighter and whiter and distributes the light much better.
