My Life in Cars


Here's all the milestones in my life when it comes to cars.
  1. I get my driver's license and the Benz 300TD Wagon to drive
  2. My dad buys a Porsche Carrera 4 Cabriolet
  3. My parents purchase a Nissan Altima for my sister
  4. My dad sells the 300TD Wagon and gives me the Audi 5000
  5. I reverse into a light pole at McDonald's and cause $5000 in damage to the Audi 5000
  6. 2 weeks after my car is out of the shop, a girl runs a red light and hits my car causing $2000 in damage to the Audi 5000. She claims I ran the red light. Her insurance, Farmer's, believes her. My insurance, State Farm doesn't want to fight and we settle, even though it was her fault.
  7. A lady switches 4 lanes at once, right into my car, causing $3000 in damage to the Audi 5000
  8. My dad lends me his Carrera 4 for Prom.
  9. I go off to college and my dad trades in the Audi 5000 for the new 20-valve Audi 200 Quattro. I can use the 200 wagon when I'm home
  10. My dad sells the Carrera 4 and gets a Mercedes 500SL via a company lease
  11. My dad sells the 200 wagon and purchases a Mercedes ML320. I can use the 20v 200 Quattro when I'm home.
  12. My parents buy me my Honda Accord
  13. I graduate from college and get my first speeding ticket in St. Louis. I call 1-800-TRAFFIC and $150 later (after $10 off coupon in yellow pages) I have a clean record again.
  14. My dad sells the 20v Quattro and purchases a AMG Mercedes C43
  15. My mom purchases a Mercedes SLK
  16. My dad sells the ML320 and purchases a BMW M Roadster. He doesn't like the color though.
  17. My dad sells the M Roadster and purchases an AMG Mercedes E55
  18. My dad purchases the BMW X5
  19. I start travelling for work and end up renting the following car models:

  20. My mom sells her Audi 200 and SLK and purchases a Volve S70.
  21. My dad sells the C43 and purchases an AMG Mercedes CLK55.
  22. I catch the tuner bug and buy new tires and wheels for my car.
  23. My dad purchases a Corvette Z06.
  24. The 2004 USDM Subaru Impeza WRX STi is officially unveiled in Detroit and I begin to seriously save for it.
  25. I attend The Lizard rally for fun with my Accord and my dad sells his E55.
  26. I begin to look for STi's to buy in St. Louis and accidentally buy one in Evanston instead.
  27. I'm given a 1984 CRX by a friend's father. Total cost: $90 for title and tax.
  28. I take the SCCA Learning Curve to learn how to handle my car in auto cross events. This starts off the 2004 season of automotive events including Mazda Rev-It-Up, SCCA and TSSCC autocross events and ImprezaFest.
  29. My dad buys an Audi Allroad 4.2 and I sell the CRX through the same dealer.
