In response to the 1000 Year Old Egg comments, I was inclined to look up the Korean or Filipino fetilized duck eggs, which are called balut (though they turned out to be of ancient Chinese origin). Here's a somewhat disturbing blog about balut. Note this disclaimer printed at the beginning of the article:
"WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS GRAPHIC PHOTOS OF DUCK FETUS"
Let me just put it this way: Balut makes 1000 year old eggs look like easter candy.

Oh, here's another blog that includes a picture play-by-play and of course, the obligatory Wikipedia entry for balut.

Lastly, here's Wikipedia's entry for Tea Eggs. Heck, why not just view Wikipedia's list of global egg dishes? It's a much longer list than I expected...

And for all you enterprising cooks... make your own balut and 1000 year eggs.
